God’s truth is always greater than your most painful, challenging, impossible circumstances! That’s right! Truth is greater than circumstances. I know what you’re thinking….”But Julie, my circumstances are real! I’m in this real situation and from my perspective it is really impossible to get to the other side.”
I’m not saying your circumstances aren’t real – I’m saying God’s TRUTH is GREATER! And that is where our victory lies!
You see this picture? This is from the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator Website. This is my name. It is my drug felony. This was a real and incredibly messy circumstance that I had gotten my own self into in the year 2001. When I was released from prison in 2002, I was told by many that my CIRCUMSTANCES – the drug felony – the addiction – the lack of a home – the lack of finances – the loss of everyone and everything in my life – was too much for me to overcome. I was told that THIS was who I was and there was nothing I could do to change it. I was told once an addict, always an addict.
But GOD said in 2 Cor 5:17, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he/she is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” And in Jeremiah 29:11 God says “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future.” And in Romans 8:28 God says that He will cause ALL THINGS to work together for good for those who are called according to His purposes!
I had a choice! I could choose what to believe! My circumstances that were very real – or my GOD who declares He created me to OVERCOME EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!
I chose God! In 2001! And His truth has proved to be GREATER than my circumstances! Every! Single! One! Of! Them!
I now have two college degrees, I’m an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God, I’m a nationally certified health education specialist, a wellness coach, I have a wonderful husband, home, ministry, my son who I did not see for 16 years as well as family who had all but written me off…. grandchildren….are all restored…..not because of me….not by my strength or power…but only and solely through my precious GOD who loves me in spite of me and created me for a purpose!
What are you going through today that looks impossible? You were created to overcome your circumstances, not sit underneath them!
